Why book us

Mulch isn't just bark on dirt.

The right mulch reduces water use, suppresses weeds, builds soil, protects plant roots and looks great. The wrong mulch heats up the soil, attracts pests (termites), or matts down and stops water getting through. We pick — and apply — properly.

🪴

Right mulch for the bed

Hardwood for natives. Forest fines for ornamentals. Pine bark for acid lovers. Sugarcane for veg.

📏

Right depth, right placement

50–75mm typically. Kept off plant stems. No mulch volcanoes around trees.

Childcare-safe options

Pine bark / forest fines for play areas. We avoid sharp species and stringy mulch around children's spaces.

Soft-fall replenishment

Topped up to AS standard depth where required. Raked level. Site signed off.

Common questions

Mulching FAQs.

How often do garden beds need mulching?

Most beds want a top-up annually — 25–50mm to maintain the protective depth. A full refresh every 3–4 years.

What's the safest mulch for childcare playgrounds?

For soft-fall: pine bark or forest fines specifically marketed for play areas, installed to AS 4422 depth (usually 200–300mm). For garden beds within reach of children, avoid sharp / stringy materials.

Will mulch attract termites?

Mulch alone doesn't attract termites — moisture, contact with house framing and gaps in inspection zones do. We keep mulch back from house slabs and never bridge inspection gaps.

Can you do the plant selection too?

Yes — qualified horticulturists picking species suited to your sun, soil, water and goals. Especially valuable for childcare where some plants are off-limits.

Do you supply and deliver, or do we?

Either works. For small beds we bring mulch on the truck. For larger jobs we coordinate bulk delivery and tip-and-spread the same day.
